Read through all the instructions first before starting this mosaic project.
Make a copy of the Cow Girl picture and enlarge according to the size wall hanging you require. Keep the original picture on hand as an example of how to colour your mosaic picture.
Take the carbon paper and place secure with masking tape to the place mat. On top of the carbon paper place your Cow Girl picture. Trace the Cow Girl picture onto the place mat using a pencil. Make sure the design has been transferred correctly on to the place mat. When you remove the masking tape, do so with ease to ensure that the masking tape is not left on the place mat for more than two hours or this could distort the placing of the mosaics on the board causing an uneven surface.
Cut up the mosaic tiles into tiny 5 – 7mm pieces.
Start gluing tiny areas of the transferred Cow Girl picture at a time. It is best to start with the detailed sections first and then move on to the larger areas.
If you take a good look at the horseshoe on the cowgirl picture, you will see that circular pieces of mosaic tile are required. Try to cut up small round circles as part of the nails for the horse shoe.
Once you have completed the detailed Cow Girl image, you can start to mosaic the background.
Once all the pieces have been pasted in place we can start the grouting process. Refer to Step 13 of the Teddy Bear on Moon craft to complete the grouting.
Your mosaic cowgirl wall hanging is complete and ready to be placed against the wall.
