Have you ever had an old bathroom mirror lying around and wondered what you could do with it other than throw it in the trash? Well, follow our simple step-by-step instructions to turn your trash into a funky mobile!
Lay your mirror squares on a piece of paper.
Paint 5 squares with one colour glass paint.
Paint your next 5 squares with another colour if you wish. Leave to dry for a minimum of 2 hours.
TIP:It is best to work with glass paint indoors and not in direct sunlight as this helps smooth your finish.
Turn your pieces of mirror upside down on your paper. Space them equal distances apart. You need at least 10cm–15cm between each piece.
Place your beads between your pieces of mirror and plan your design.
Cut a long piece of gut, ensuring it is long enough to fit all your glass and beads.
Thread all the beads onto your gut. Place them back in order between your pieces of mirror with the gut betweem the mirror. Space your beads equally.
Lift one piece of mirror and put a big blob of textured frost onto the bottom piece of the mirror.
Place your gut in the middle of your mirror and the blob of textured frost.
Place your second piece of mirror onto the first. Sealing the gut in the middle.
Space your beads in the correct place. Secure the beads to the gut by putting a blob of textured frost in the hole.
Follow Steps 8–Step 10 until you are done. Leave to dry overnight.
Tie a knot at the top of the piece of gut and hang your mobile in a tree or window.
