This is a fun craft to do, children will love getting their hands messy with this one, as well as being fun to make, it is also eco-friendly and a fun recycling project for kids to learn from.
Kids could also spend the day collecting 'junk' ice-cream sticks cleaning up the dam, but do remember to wash them off properly afterwards (the sticks, as well as your kid's hands).
It is also a great Mother's Day craft for kids to make. Ages 4 and up. Follow our easy step by step instructions to make your own recycled recipe holder.

Read through all the instructions first before starting this craft. Make sure you have everyting you will need at hand and your working area is clean and tidy. Cover your surface with plastic or brown paper.
Glue 12 popsicle sticks long sides together in a row. (this will serve as the back of your recipe holder, the popsicle sticks should face upwards)
Glue another 7 popsicle sticks long sides together in a row (these will be the front of your recipe holder, they will need to be done in the opposite direction as the back popsicle sticks, they should face lenghwise)
Stack and glue 5 popsicle sticks on top of each other (do this two times, making two stacks of 5 sticks)
Take one stack of 5 popsicle sticks and glue them to the 12 stick, along the longest side. Then repeat with the other stack of 5 on the opposite side.
Glue the row of 7 popsicle sticks on top of the stacks of 5 popsicle sticks.
Turn recipe holder over. Glue 2 popsicle sticks together to create a V shape and attach (glue) to the top of the recipe holder to create a hanger.
Then once everything is glued together, paint (if you want to) or just decorate your recipe holder.
Give this wonderful hand made gift to your Mother, Aunty, Grandmother or any other special person to you.
