What you need to make polymer clay embellishments with silicone rubber moulds:

Read through all the instructions first before starting this craft to make sure you are able to complete the project.

Step 1

Take some polymer clay out of the packet and seal up the rest. Don’t leave the clay open or it will dry out or get harder to work with the next time. Work with the clay a bit and play with it so that it gets nice and soft and easy to use. Even if it is hard and seems unmanageable it will often soften when played with.

Step 2

Choose the colour of clay you going to work with and estimate how much you might need for the embellishment you want to make. Fill your silicone rubber mould with the polymer clay and see if you have enough, if not, add more clay. If you have too much, it is sometimes easier to remove all the clay, break a piece off and then put it back into your silicone rubber mould.

Step 3

Press the polymer clay down firmly into the rubber mould and flatten the top. Leave it in the mould for about an hour to dry before you remove the embellishments.

Step 4

Once the embellishments have been left to dry for an hour, remove them by turning the silicone rubber mould upside down and bending it backwards. The polymer clay embellishments should just pop out of the mould.

Step 5

Place your polymer clay embellishments onto a sheet of tin foil and bake in a standard house oven at 145 deg. C for 30 min.

Step 6

Remove from your oven and leave to cool down for at least 30 min. You can now use them to do scrapbooking or other crafts, or simply glue onto a picture frame to decorate it!
