It is a good idea to read through all the instructions first before starting this Valentines Day craft. Show your loved one just how much you love them, by taking the time out to create something very special and personal for them to use every day.

Step 1

Gather all of your required items and tools for the project, lay them all out in front of you on your work surface, sit down and get ready to create!

Step 2

First we need to decorate some head pins. Slide a variety of beads onto the head pin. Once you are happy with the beads on your head pin, trim the wire using the snipers on the pliers, to approx. 5mm.

Step 3

Then, using the round nosed pliers, pinch the tip and twist the wire on your headpin to create a loop at the end. This secures the beads onto the head pin so that they don't fall off, and later on, we will use the loops on the head pins to attach the head pins onto the length of chain.

Step 4

Keep going until you have decorated and created loops on a number of head pins. You can choose how full or empty you would like the key ring to look, but we suggest having a decorated headpin for every second link in your chain.

You can also choose how long you would like your chain to be, but we suggest about 5 to 10cm length in total.

Step 5

We found this beautiful silver heart which we are going to put on the end of our chain. Hold a jump ring with pliers, and then using another set of pliers, gently twist it to the side to open the jump ring. Do not pull the ends away from each other, as this will weaken the strength of the jump ring.

Once open, slide the heart onto it, and then slip it onto the last link in the chain. Using pliers, gently twist the jump ring to close it again.

Step 6

Now we can start connecting our decorated jump rings onto the chain. As in Step 5, hold a jump ring with both pairs of pliers and gently twist to the side to open it. Once open, slide your decorated headpin onto it and then connect it onto the chain. Once ont he chain, use pliers to twist the jump ring closed again.

Step 7

Keep attaching the decorated beaded headpins onto the chain until your chain is full.

Step 8

With all pins in place, you now need to only attach the key ring to the top. As before, twist a jump ring open, slide the last chain link and the key ring onto it, and then twist it closed.
